Susana Alimovna Jamaladinova (Crimean: Susana Alim qızı Camaladinova; better known as Jamala) is a Ukrainian singer of Crimean Tatar origin, winner of the 61st Eurovision Song Contest.
Susana Alimovna Jamaladinova (Crimean: Susana Alim qızı Camaladinova; better known as Jamala) is a Ukrainian singer of Crimean Tatar origin, winner of the 61st Eurovision Song Contest.During her creative career, which continues to this day, she has recorded and released six studio albums, two compilations, one concert and three mini-albums, as well as one maxisingle, which includes songs in English, Ukrainian, Russian and Crimean Tatar. She starred in the film "Guide( ukr. Povodyr)" by Ukrainian director Oles Sanin.She has received seven statuettes of the Ukrainian Music Award "YUNA", two awards "ELLE Style Award", as well as awards "Man of the Year", "Best Fashion Awards", "Red Apple Awards", "Eurostory Awards", "Marcel Bezençon Award" and " Cosmopolitan Awards ». Since the beginning of the war in eastern Ukraine, she has taken part in events dedicated to the unity and integrity of the state.On January 26, 2016, Jamala announced that she would take part in the national selection for the 61st Eurovision Song Contest, and according to the results of the draw, on February 6, she performed in the first semifinal of the national selection, performing the author's song "1944" past, including the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people. According to the results of the audience voting and the jury, Jamala reached the final of the national selection, where she won.During her song contest in Stockholm, the singer received the Eurostory Awards 2016 for the best line in the competition song, as well as the Marcel Bezençon Award in the category "Art Prize". After the singer's second rehearsal on the Eurovision stage, Russian music critic of Armenian origin Artur Gasparyan named Jamala's song, performance and vocals the best at this year's contest.On the night of May 15, Jamala won the Eurovision final with 534 points, and on May 16, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko awarded her the honorary title of "People's Artist of Ukraine."
